|There has been a lot of attention paid to the
series of four blood moons last year and this year, and the fact that
these blood moons fall on either the Passover or on the Feast of
Tabernacles. Two of the most significant Jewish holidays Moses
instructed Israel to follow.
Since the Jewish calendar is lunar, and since these holidays falls on
the middle of their respective months there will always be a full moon:
Also these holidays are exactly 6 months apart. The physics of how
the moon orbits the earth is such that lunar eclipses are almost always
6 lunar months apart.
Lord’s Passover begins at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first
- On the fifteenth day of the seventh month the Lord’s Festival of Tabernacles begins, and it lasts for seven days. Leviticus 23:34
So when I first heard of this apparent
sign of blood moons falling on Jewish holidays, my initial reaction was
that this wasn't such a big deal.
So I investigated. I
downloaded the NASA data on lunar eclipses and correlated them with the
Jewish calendar. After correcting for Gregorian-Julian time switch and
the extra 10 days added to the calendar in 1582 I was able to look at
all blood moons over the last 2000 years and correlate them with Jewish
holidays. Here are the findings looking at events between 1AD and 2400ad
- There are 5800 lunar eclipses (each year has 2 or 3)
- There are 66 tetrads
are 9 tetrads where the lunar eclipse falls on Passover of the Feast of
Tabernacles. This is about a 1 in 7 chance statistically.
last 3 tetrads have been loosely linked to the discovery of America by
Columbus (1492), the creation of the state of Israel (1948), the 6 day
war where the Old city of Jerusalem was occupied by Israel (1967).
question hanging is will the tetrad of 2014-2015 signify anything? If
so then a significant event pertaining to the state of Israel is likely
within the next 1-2 years.
- When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near. Luke 21:28.
patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how
the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently
waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand
firm, because the Lord’s coming is near. James 5:7-8
